 I have never used the Internet on Windows NT before

The easiest way by far to Install IDL onto Windows NT is to use our Automatic Setup CD, this can be obtained free of charge by calling our helpdesk

However if you do not wish to use the IDL Setup CD, you can follow the tutorial below


Please note these instructions apply if you have never used the Internet on your computer before, if you have already used the internet on your computer with another ISP click here


1. Open My Computer  

 

2. Open Dial-Up Networking  

If this is the first time you have used the Internet on your computer you will be prompted to install communications and RAS (Remote Access Setup)

3. Click Install  

 

4. Click Yes to add your Modem, Make sure your modem is on and it will automatically detect it.

 

5. Click OK, Please note your modem may be different and on a different com port.

 

6. Once your modem has been setup successfully click OK

 

7. You must restart your computer to continue.

 

8. Click OK to add the IDL Dial-up Connection

 

9. The new phone book entry is IDL Internet

 

10. Entry Name - IDL Internet

Comment - None required

Phone Number - Select from table below

Dial Using - You will see your modem in here


It is YOUR responsibility to contact Telstra on 1800 113 011 to make sure the modem number you choose to use is in fact a local call

11. Select the Server tab. Make sure that TCP/IP is selected and Enable PPP LCP Extentions is not

 

12. Now you have the option to connect. If you would like to connect to the Internet now press Dial.
