What are Cookies?

A cookie is a small file that a web site places on your computer so it can remember something about you at a later time. A cookie is used to record information you have entered, or perhaps where you've been on that particular site. Cookies are useful because a web site then can know who you are next time you log on - they save you from resubmitting information to the site again.
