Advanced Configuration Settings for IDL Services

Advanced setup info is provided for quick setup by advanced users and I.T. companies.

  • Default IDL E-Mail Address
    IDL owns both domains idl.net.au & idl.com.au so your e-mail will work with both addresses. If you aren't sure which one you have please contact us.

    • yourusername@idl.net.au
    • yourusername@idl.com.au
  • Incoming POP3 & IMAP Mail Server
    Use plaintext authentication with your IDL username (remember to put the @idl.net.au after the username). Exmaple: lachlan@idl.net.au

    • mail.idl.net.au - POP3 on port 110
    • mail.idl.net.au - IMAP on port 143
  • Outgoing SMTP Mail Server
    Our outgoing mail server will require authentication. The username and password is the same as for incoming username and password.

    • mail.idl.com.au - on port 25 or 587
  • Proxy Server
    Using proxies is not required but can speed-up browsing.

    • proxy.idl.net.au - PORT 3128
  • DNS Servers
    It is normally best to leave DNS as server assigned.
    • 119.15.72.102
    • 119.15.72.103
  • PPP Setup for ADSL
    • Protocol - PPPoE
    • Login Authentication - yourusername@idl.net.au
    • Login Password - yourpassword (case sensitive)
    • IP address, DNS address, Gateway etc all assigned by the server (even if static)
  • PPP Setup for IDL Fixed Wireless
    • Protocol - PPPoE
    • Login Authentication - yourusername@idl.net.au
    • Login Password - yourpassword (case sensitive)
    • IP address, DNS address, Gateway etc all assigned by the server (even if static)
  • NSW Dial-up number
    These are local call numbers for all of NSW, However it is your responsibility to check with your phone provider.
